Governor’s Palace Theatre presents its second season of “Come Celebrate Christmas…A

Spirit-filled Holiday Extravaganza”.

“Come Celebrate Christmas” is Broadway excitement for every member of the family. With a nationally-auditioned musical cast of 50, you’ll rejoice in what this totally Christmas production has to offer. From Toyland to the Holy Land, this show has the audience “in the Christmas spirit,” with musical sounds of holiday magic and carols fit for the King.

Along with your holiday favorites, the cast presents the hilarious Santa Claus Quartet and the mischievous Santa's Elves singing the “Discontented Elves” song.

Unique to the area is the theatre’s magical, musical indoor water arena. You will be captivated as the entire stage is transformed into a holiday bouquet of colorful dancing streams, swirling arches and gushing fountains, choreographed to the cast’s joyful performance of “Good Christian Men Rejoice,” “How Great Our Joy” and “Mary Had a Baby.”

The show also features vocalist Leonard Tucker, an award-winning West-coast recording artist, who sings “Come Celebrate Christmas,” “I'll Be Home for Christmas,” “Merry Christmas Darling” and “O Holy Night,” along with several full-scale production numbers, including the unforgettable inspirational finale, “Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb.”

The audience is invited to sing its favorite carols during the sing-along segment, and a manger scene with Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus all have a prominent place in the second act of the program. “No Christmas production would be complete without acknowledging Jesus, the true reason for the season,” says producer, Randy Rebold.

“The star, the innkeeper, the shepherds, the wise men and the reading of the Christmas story all help us retell that wonderful story that never gets old.”

In addition, the second half includes a dramatic reading of the poem “One Solitary Life” as well as a new contemporary song of the same title written specially for “Come Celebrate Christmas.”

“Come Celebrate Christmas” runs several times weekly, November 7 through December 22. Those attending either the 2:30 PM matinees or 7:30 PM evening shows are treated to free popcorn.
